John Lennon Is An Ice-Cream
John Lennon has inspired a new ice-cream flavour at Ben & Jerry's.
'Imagine Whirled Peace is a toffee, cookies and fudge flavour and has peace signs whirled through it.
At the Ben & Jerry's site, they say "When Ben & Jerry's wanted to talk about peace, we couldn't think of a better person to exemplify the message than John Lennon. Through his art and lyrics he imagined a world without war and asked us all to 'Give Peace a Chance'. We hope this whirly mixture of toffee cookies and fudge peace signs enlightens your bellies and souls and makes you ask what you can do to promote peace in your lives".
But beware. That peace fudge might create war with your stomach. The ice-cream comes with the warning "The Fudge Peace Sign Pieces Are Manufactured On Equipment That Also Processes Peanuts And Tree Nuts".
Lennon's signature appears on the carton, so we can only assume that he has approved of this marketing campaign from the grave.

Imagine "Whirled" Peace. Uh huh. World peace through ice cream. Brilliant idea Yoko. Although, I liked the sitting in a bag idea better though. Nothing tops that.

I thought this was an interesting take on the whole Ben and Jerry's empire:

World Peace through shared obesity!
That's hilarious. Promote peace! Be obese!
I saw this the other day in the store and I couldn't... couldn't buy it. Not even for John.
Sorry, Yoko.

This is what comes to mind when I think of Yoko and Messrs Ben, and Jerry raking in the profits:

Maybe the thinking is that fat people lying on their sofas in sugar-induced stupors will also be peaceful people, or at least not inclined to make the effort that would be required in order for them to cause trouble. Top it off with a bucket of fried chicken, I say. ;D

Didn't John say "Ice cream Moon" on the Beatles 1969 Christmas Message?
-
hey everyone! my friends actually had this ice cream. she told me it was yummy delicious and super terrific.
-
I have never tried Ben and Jerry's ice cream. I don't think we have it in Canada. But you know, Ben and Jerry's was originally a hippie grassroots company, that eventually went corporate. Kind of like what Yoko did to John's image, eh?
-
OMG! i just tried some of this ice cream, and it was DELICIOUS! at least, me and my sister liked it. and i am keeping the cover, with his signature on it, cause thats how little life i have! ;D
-
I got a carton, more for the carton not the ice cream. I didn't really like the ice cream. So, I just picked out the good little chocolate peace signs and cleaned out the container to save.
-
I have had the ice cream several times. I am not a big fan of sweets, but I like toffee and there is a lot of toffee in it. I think it is pretty good.

I think I only twice ate B&J. I'm afraid we don't have it here. They sell B&J but I haven't seen Johns. I like the carton!
