5 Underrated Songs by Huffingtonpost
« on: March 10, 2015, 04:26:58 PM »

Found this article and it made me realize that true Beatle fans don't have underrated songs anymore (such as the members of this board).  Seriously, how many of you read the article and said, 'Oh yeah, I forgot about that one'?

I read it just a while ago. I went "meh!" Really. I went "meh!"

Imagine.

Agree totally. My reaction was "meh," too. Those are some of my favorites!

I was expecting that this would be a thread to list our personal five underrated songs.

Liking or not liking songs is a highly personal choice. I'm sure there is someone out there who thinks that Revolution #9 is the best piece of music The Beatles ever made.

The list in the Huffington Post doesn't seem exceptionally insightful to me, just songs that the article author likes that aren't the most discussed.

There are some songs that IMHO are among the Beatles best, but aren't as well known as I think they should be. Not among us Beatle fans, but among the general public.

No particular order

I Want You (She's so heavy)
Long long long
What You're Doing
Flying
Christmas time is here again (OK, so it's not a full song, but it's a great refrain - love Ringo's version of it).

It's not a bad list though, even if it doesn't have a lot of meaning to Beatle fans such as us.

If it gets the general public checking out Beatles songs, that can only be a good thing.

Agreed. Personally, I'm done with lists like this that appear every now and then. Or daily.

What constitutes rare or obscure in 2015 is 'rarely' anything of the sort.

That's what amuses me about the constant digging for obscurities.

Straight up.....in 2015, 'With The Beatles' is an obscurity or, put it this way, how many people would you have to ask in the street before they could name just 3 songs from it?
