I think Paul's worst moment as an artist after the Beatles would have to be his rock movie debacle Give My Regards To Broadstreet since he probably thought it was still the 60's in his mind & this was his sequel to A Hard Day's Night as well as having the worst Beatles covers ever by the former Beatle himself sadly.
-
Naaahh... Broadstreet is had a bad script, but at least I got to watch Paul onscreen. ;)
His worst moment was probably the pot bust in 1980.
-
Wayne always slags on 'GMRTB', but he remembers the movie more so than the music. 'Worst' Beatle covers by any other Beatle? Did John and George ever cover and record Beatle tunes? If they did, its not coming to me right now. Anyways, I like the soundtrack ( a lot) and the movie was dumb, but its got some decent footage.
Pauls worst moment was the McCartney 2 album. Horrible.
-
Advising Michael Jackson that buying up song copyrights is a good investment.
-
As an artist? Probably the BROAD STREET film, yeah. Also the DRIVING RAIN album.
-
That Tw@ish hair cut he had in the early eighties. Bad curtains!
-
How do I answer this? Let me count the ways ...
Broadstreet
Letting Linda play in his band
Driving Rain, Off The Ground, Macca 2, At The Speed Of Sound, ... on and on (BUT there are some gems scattered here and there)
His "books" - poetry (= lyrics, some of which had Lennon input!), paintings.
His "classical" stuff. Yawn.
That's enough!
Paul's fans might get hot under the collar when he gets "bashed" in the media, and on web boards. But by golly, he has set himself up nicely for a walloping, hasn't he?

John and George in concerts. John's one-to-one concert, and Toronto.
George: many occasions: Japan, 1974 North American tour, Prince's Trust.
But as a re-work in the studio, which is prob what you mean, no. Only NOT GUILTY is

Much rather hear Linda than Yoko (the slant eyed satan) screaming on stage.
Driving Rain, Off The Ground, Macca 2, At The Speed Of Sound, ... on and on (BUT there are some gems scattered here and there)
Come on Ydoll. Lets take 'Off The Ground' (love that entire album) and 'At The Speed Of Sound' off that list and enter 'Pipes Of Peace' and 'Press To Play'. (I know i'm setting myself up for a Paul bashing, but it had to be done.)
**I thought half of 'Driving Rain' was fantastic and the other half was blah. If only there was a happy medium**
-
I love the whole "Off the Ground" album. 'Pipes of Peace' I could probably do without, but I'd rather have it than not. I love 'Stranglehold' off of "Press to Play". The only thing I really can't get into is the 'Liverpool Sound Collage'.
-
Jeepers i'm tuned,,,I spelled 'peace' as 'piece' in my oroginal post. Had to change it (thanks Jr), but i agree with what you posted. I love 'stranglehold' too (actually I like a lot of that album), but would have to sub this one for 'SOS' as I like that album better.

And you have every right.

Speaking of satan, how's that one-legged b*tch Heather doing these days?
-
Yeah, I don't like her either. Everyone knows I'm a Linda fan. :)
-
For me, it's the WINGS WILD LIFE album in 1972, because there's no remarkable song on it. It was a rarely rehearshed recorded session of a nervous band led by an unsafe feeling bandleader, so ........
Broadstreet is musically ok I think, not a hit, but ok. But the film is terrible I have to agree. Klaus

Speaking of Satan,,,I thought you were gone for good! Please dont come back and have a miserable life while your at it.

What the hell is THAT about?

One legged b****? Always the compassionate one eh Joe?

Theres an ugly history on these boards with Kolarski before you were here so its nothing that you need to concern yourself with.
-

-
Heather's coming to Milwaukee in the next few weeks to discuss her rags to promising career to tragedy to triumph story to inspire whoever attends.
-

Then don't post rude comments in public.
And you spelt his name wrongly.
-
It was a tough decision, but I came to the conclusion that I care even less about what you think about my posts than I do about misspelling his name.

You're the one who made a racial remark ("slant eyed") and first used the term "satan", O Righteous One....

Listen guys, I know Yoko and Heather are annoying, but can we please refrain from these comments about people's races and disabilaties?
BTW, Joe Karlosi- please don't come here just to start fights. This is for the most part a peaceful, friendly board and we don't need that kind of negativity.
-
Mairi - the reason I left was actually because it WASN'T very peaceful. Now that I see things have not changed, adios for a while again, and keep it going...
-
and please don't give us the "ugly history" routine; things were never as 'ugly' as you're now making them out to be.

We will,,,,,and here I thought he would have seen his shadow when he crawled out from under his rock. Oh well.
-
I didn't realize you missed me that much, Tkitna. Okay, you talked me into staying. But did you have to twist my arm so tightly?
Yes Joe, things were very much 'uglier' than they are now.
Hmmm. Yes, I did a past search and it was a little hairy there, you're right. It's my fault; I guess I have a very positive nature and like to leave the past buried. In my search I sure uncovered some nastiness from other sources since I left, too. Hopefully, everyone can Give Peace a Chance.

Mairi, I'm interested in why you didn't tick Tkitna off for HIS rudeness and negativity ...

I dunno, it seemed like he just came back to start a fire. They're both acting childish, anyways.

Then call them BOTH out. Otherwise it looks VERY biassed.
-
Say, Ydoll Gwyn -- I've been reading some past posts of yours and it sounds like we'll get along fine here.
-
Right.
I don't like these forum fights. It seems as if the minute one is resolved we start another one....
-

Hope so. Every forum needs knowledgeable and articulate posters.
-
^
yeah.
but you are a Twat mate.
Spoken, like a true englishman.
-
What, are you saying a forum doesn't need knowledgeable and articulate posters?
I'm fascinated how some people descend directly to abuse when they don't like something. What an immature thing to do!
-
No, I'm saying putting yourself into that position of glorified elitism only displays a striking pretentiousness. Recommendation & personal acclaim for one's posts does nothing for a forum.
Sometimes the choice and order of indulgent words may help, other times stripping a post of any irrelevance strengthens the point at hand. I chose the latter.

You ninny - I was praising Joe, not myself!! ::)
As for your justification for your rudeness - well, it sounds lame -- hey, it is lame! There ya go!
-
Let's just say "welcome back Joe" and leave it at that for the time being :)
What d'ya reckon?
(flower)
-
That's a little late though, isn't it? He's a guest user now...
-
I hope he'll rejoin - he must've only left a few hours ago!

Wow!! Maybe for the first time ever,,,,i'm speechless!

I've read some old posts from Joe K. And if he's gone, this board has lost yet another good poster.
I know I'll draw fire for this: but here goes. This board has a right strong collection of mean-spirited people. Not all of course, but enough to ensure a constant low hum of bickering and sniping.
And just to head some of you off at the pass: Charlie fired the first shot in our war. If you go back to the thread where it all started, you'll see I gave a view about ideas taking off on the internet. The reply from Charlie was "F*ck You". No man can allow that sort of stuff, so it was on. Notice however, that at no stage did I swear or use profanities. I just chopped him to pieces with words and logic. And now he's gone. The board feels better, but gee I wish some others would go so we could talk about Beatles, and Beatles only.
-
You think your'e a real Wordsworth don't you.

Umm ... what's a Wordsworth? Then I'll tell you if I'm a real one! :D
-
William Wordsworth.

William Wordsworth.
Oh, him. ;) He was a poet who loved the Lake District. Let' see "I wandered lonely as a cloud ..."
I wandered lonely as a cloud

Frankly, Indica, I hve no idea of what you were getting at. Try not to be so obscure. Better, go and listen to some Beatles music.
-
Take orders from you?
Hmmm.
No.

Talking about how great a poster Joe was and your lack of profanity? Well, here's an old post from Joe that you obviously missed. This wasnt even the post where he threw the 'F' bombs at us and put down the entire forum (he must have deleted that one), but here you go.
Quoted from Joe_Karlosi, posted August 25th, 2004, 10:28 at here
You've already long ago made me sick, you jerk. I also love your bullsh*t about "he was only kidding". I'm so sick of a**holes like you who make comments or insinuations and insults, and then hide behind the "duh..... I was only kidding" remark after they're called on it. You mean I can say your mother is a whore, as long as I do it in a jokey way? I don't think so. Yeah, there's "something wrong with me" all right -
-
OOO that one was at me, i feel so special.
i remember that one. He edited it too i believe, it had been more profane
-
Tkitna, I think it's pretty clear that Joe was DEFENDING himself. He was giving back what was being laid down on him.
I've got nothing especially against swearing: my point was that the first thing Charlie said involved an inappropriate "F*ck You". I didn't reply likewise. But no-one could have blamed a response imitating Charlie's abusive lines. Instead, I chose a method Charlie wouldn't really understand: logic. He knew he was being chopped - he just couldn't return it.
Joe clearly chose a different way. That's fine. But I notice that his logic was brilliant too!
-
Take orders from you?
Hmmm.
No.
So you won't listen to Beatles music, because I suggested it?
You'll deliberately be obscure, because I suggested you try not to be?
Wrong response mate. You would have looked smarter if you had said nothing.
-
It could be when he does that talk thing with Micheal on the outro of 'The Girl Is Mine.' Makes me cringe!!!!!!! lol

I hear you. Possibly the nadir of Macca's post-Beatle career. Shameless pop pap.

he can listen ot the beatles by the will of his own free choice. just because you suggest it doesn't mean you own a monoply on the damn thing and everyone who does it listened to you.

Go back and read more carefully, as you are missing the point.
