so out of all the many albums, which was the best song that they opened with? i imagine alot of people are gonna say SPLHCB but i will have to say MMT or Back in the USSR
-
nah, ill say Back in the USSR or ISHST...just to be different
-
i would have to say Taxman
-
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
-
I Saw Her Standing There. Great little rock n roll song. Kicks ass!
-
I would have to say Taxman on Revolver, Back In The USSR on the White Album & Come Together on Abbey Road.
-
ISHST...just to be different
I agree with you on that one!
-
i'll go w/ "come together". the opening of CT and something is nothing short of miraculous.
-
Back in the USSR. the title track on Magical Mystery Tour is really good too
-
i would have to say Taxman
i second this
-
I quite like Two Of Us from Let It Be, although No Reply from Beatles For Sale is also a favourite.
-
I just like the 1 2 3 4 opener of Please Please me! even though it was taken from another take of I saw her standing there its still my favorite!

I've always thought this to be the perfect Beatles opener.

Either "Back In The USSR" or "I Saw Her Standing There".

Well, if you mean what is the "best song that happens to be the first song on the album" than I would probably say "Come Together", 'cause some of the other tunes like "I Saw Her Standing There" are great songs but I don't think touch the originality and lyrical dexterity of "Come Together"...
If you mean "the best song fit for opening an album" I'd have to say "Back In The U.S.S.R."

It Won't Be Long from With the Beatles just sort of jumps out at you and catches you unaware. I like that!
McLennon-you're absolutely right. I have loved that countdown since I first heard it!
