Any fans are learning indian instrumentals?

Any fans are learning Indian instrumentals because of Mr. Harrison? =]
or are you deciding to learn or already know how to play an Indian instrumental?

I'd like to learn tabla, not sitar. cos i like playing drums. XD
and I've started to enjoy some kind of Indian music. like Krishna songs.

I love Indian music. Sitar is one of my favorite insturments. George did first influence me to listen to it, but I don't just like it because he does. It's so relaxing and different, I can see why he loved it.

Tabla's are really cool drums, the sound they make.  I would love to play the stiar but i've heard from Ravi Shankar it takes many years to even begin to master the insturment.

My uncle Ted got one off a guy in the pub and pretty well picked it up in a week. He can do a mean "We are The Champions" and can almost do the melody line from The Birdie Song.
He said it  helps if you get really bladdered first.

   My friend's uncle had one, but he sold it. :(

I think Ravi meant like people can play it, but for it to actaully  be played right it takes a while.


But that's neat he picked it up so fast. I wish I could do that with an insturment
