Unfortunately the Casualty Department at The Royal Free Love Hospital was too far away to be of any real help.

They needed emergency care...

Whoever made that sign was suffering from Ali MacGraw.

I once had a mild case of Ali MacGraw.  It's a good thing I never saw that movie.  It could have been fatal.

I'll just bet you did!

I watched it when it first aired on TV. It wasn't fatal but I did get yelled at the next day by my 4th grade teacher for talking about it. She told me I shouldn't have stayed up so late and that I thought I was so special ever since I got white go-go boots for Christmas. Not that I'm harboring any lasting resentments. LOL

Along those lines I'm sure you're well aware of this sort of thing but it boggled my mind when I read it:
I Sold My Undergraduate Thesis to a Print Content Farm

Oh my gosh; I was alternately horrified and laughing out loud, Kelley. Yikes! I've never heard of LAP Lambert, but I no longer take work from for-profit academic publishers, and this article is a good example of why. (The nonprofit professional associations still, thank goodness, focus on quality.)

I haven't actually started reading it yet Kathy so I hope it's good. I'm still working on the big tome. I also have this one waiting in line but I picked it up at the library:

I meant to say that that book looks very interesting, too. Now I'm torn on whether I should order Pete Shotton's book straight away or hold off...I still have some Beatle-reading to catch up on, including the first Lewisohn volume, as well as George Martin's book and Julia Baird's The Private John Lennon, but I get impatient when I see a book I really want.

I figured you'd like that! I have to send this to my daughter too. She just finished her Master's thesis and I'm sure she'll be hearing from someone sketchy.

Yes, of course. That's been a chronic condition, I'm afraid.

Very cool! I never heard the "foolish rules" part before! Just thought it was a variation on the "Oooo's"!

I didn't realize it, either! I played the song on the way to church, and sure enough, I could discern "foolish rules." Never noticed it before.

I never caught that either. Now it comes right through.

I did too.  One for me and one for my sister to commemorate me taking her twice to see the movie in the theater when it was released.  They'll be delivered in time for her birthday on July 4th.

I'd like to get that but my daughter bought me the DVD some years ago and it's special to me. She was the first person in this house to acknowledge my love of The Beatles.
