All the inf about it is given on the YT post. It's a guide for someone called Doris Troy. George produced her version in 1970

Thank you, stevie!! ;)

I think Doris Troy sessions were held from mid-1969 onwards, according to this site...

I wonder if Klaus Voormann played bass on that session...

Best!! ;)

Well......I think like McCartneys version better. BTW Doris Troy was mostly known for her early sixties top ten hit here in the states called "Just one look" and she also did back up vocals on Pink Floyds "Dark side of the moon". If you remeber the bluesy wailing vocals from DSOM......That was her. She had a great voice. I am not sure when but I think she passed on within the last three to five years.

I kind of like this version.  It's bluesy.  I'm happy this run-through was saved.

Doris Troy's version is very enjoyable...

I think so. It could even be a ukelele.

Mmmm... I don't think so because an ukelele would sound in an upper register...

Unfortunately, I can't find who are the musicians playing on that session...  :(

Xosé, I don't think the Apple Studio was functional for this session as it was undergoing renovation.

This is from The Apple Records website:

Apple offered Doris no fewer than three contracts, exactly what she’d asked for. They also gave her own office on the top floor at 3 Savile Row, next door to Peter Asher, then Apple’s A&R chief.

Work on Doris’ self-titled album began at Trident Studios in London’s Soho district in mid 1969 and continued until the end of the year. George and Doris worked together on the production but Doris got the producer’s credit. The sessions were spontaneous and thanks to George’s unparalleled influence, musicians gathered quickly to play on the album and to collaborate with Doris.

George was present throughout, of course, and, as Doris recalled in ’92: “We had Ringo Starr. He was one of my favourite people. He would be the first one there. He was so dedicated. I wish I could see him today and tell him how much I appreciate his enthusiasm and the way he worked, because he could play."

I'm looking for more info at Tony Bramwell, Magical Mistery Tours. my life with The Beatles, New York, Thomas Dunne Books, 2005, and I have contacted him at Facebook. Maybe he can help us...

I love John's singing on this. If he could've done a proper version where he got all the words right,I'd have preferred it to Paul's.
