Yes, John Lennon introduced Cilla to Brian Epstein. Once he decided to manage her and George Martin signed her to Parlaphone she recorded this Lennon and McCartney song:

Her fourth single was also written by John and Paul.

And Paul wrote this theme for her TV show:

She also covered a number of their Beatles songs.

Your first link didn't work but this should do the trick: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3262824/

She's pretty good! I never heard much of her growing up. Just her name here and there .

She's been a major tv personality for 20 years in the UK hosting shows like Blind Date etc in prime viewing times

I think she quit singing years ago

I always thought that Cilla's version of 'Anyone Who Had A Heart' tore to shreds the rather square Dionne Warwick original. The production on those British girl group 45s in the mid-60s really was as great as music production ever got.

I've never been a great fan of Dionne Warwick (too polite, too mannered, too supper club) and her constant bleating about 'that English girl' having a hit with 'her' song has been a mainstay of every single interview she has given since '64. Get over it.....!

But if she takes that hat off she'll be bald.

Never heard or read an interview over two minutes with Dionne Warwick, In My Life?
She will mention it, honest, every time.

I believe you! The "oh geez" was for her and her jealously. I don't think I've ever actually seen any interviews with her.

Yep, I don't mean to be horrible to Dionne, it's just (admittedly to an English interviewer and to an English audience - she probably wouldn't have bothered if she'd been talking to a Dallas radio station) would always mention it.

Another artist who did this was Bobby Womack over The Stones' version of his 'It's All Over Now', which he apparently hated.
However, 48 years of large cheques regularly dropping through his front door seems to have mellowed Bobby on this subject!
