Bill Harry
« on: October 29, 2011, 01:41:14 PM »

I haven't been on this message board for a long time due to a number of problems during thr last eighteen months which led to me cancelling all appearances, hardly leaving the house and getting behind on all e-mails. It was the 50th anniversary of Mersey beat this year and I had intended doing some promotions. Unfortunately, Virginia became extremely ill and has had two major operations this year, so she has been my main priority. In addition, my computer blew losing everything I've written and researched during the past ten years, along with a few thousand photos. A computer shop was paid to repair it but actually damaged it to such an extent that the material can't be recovered.

Many thanks for your consideration. I have just completed a book 'The Sixties', which should be out in March. The publishing industry is currently in a dire state. Perhaps it is the era of the e-book.

What an awful year you must have had. So sorry to hear of your troubles. I echo the others in wishing ALL the best to Virginia, and ... golly, thought I had been let down by computers over the years but yours sounds just dreadful.

Happy 50th for Mersey Beat  -  thank you for that publication and all its achievements, which are yours too.

Mr. Harry-- I'm a new member here; everybody seems very friendly and accessible, but I'm truly honored to be in ANY group that includes you.  I'm sorry to hear about your troubles---they are grievous ones---but it sounds like you are persevering (as always).  I'll have to look out for your book!  Many thanks for everything you've done for fans and music (and art!).
