OK Baz, Mike left The Searchers as he was sick of them, they were playing in sh*tty places and doing all kinds of cover songs, he decided to team up with Chris and form another Searchers and play all over the world, they formed the new band and toured USA, Oz & places like Greece and had a ball...

I was just wondering. Did the Searchers influence the Byrds or was it the other way round?

The Searchers formed in 1959. George Harrison and Mike Pender were among the first to perform with the Rickenbacker 360-12 in 1964. They no doubt influenced Roger McGuinn.
