the director was Frederic Goode.............Pop Gear (released in the U.S. as Go Go Mania) is one of the swingingest relics of the British Invasion era--a full-color presentation of some of the best-known British Invasion acts, along with a few also-rans. Hosted by British DJ Jimmy Saville and also featuring clips of The Beatles' 20 November 1963 concert in Manchester, England, Pop Gear featured performers such as The Animals, Billy J. Kramer and Herman's Hermits lip-synching to their hits on an "interestingly"-decorated (at times) sound stage; glimpses of one-hit wonders (in the U.S.) like The Honeycombs and The Nashville Teens; and performances by acts who were (and still are) quite unknown over on this side of the pond.
