Jane Mansfield's Car - Really offbeat generational about families dealing with situations and each other. Robert Duval, Billy Bob Thornton, Kevin Bacon. I liked it, different though!

Broken Flowers

Bill Murray

I enjoyed it but the ending didn't make any sense

The Hobbit, Desolation of Smaug!
Pretty good, a little too digital for me but on the whole interesting. I had to watch it over 2 nights as all the unrelenting action put me to sleep. I had to go back to the last thing I remembered and started from there!

We saw Hunger Games II last weekend. Didn't do much for me. More like Survivor with holistic tricks!

Watched Inside Llewyn Davis. Typical Coen fare. Humorous and cutting. I quite enjoyed it but it's always a problem for me when no character in it is particularly likeable.

I found that one largely unsatisfying. The story dragged on and seemed to go nowhere. There were some interesting character sketches, but for me that wasn't enough to give it more than...

Yep it went precisely nowhere. Which I suppose was a metaphor for the main character.  It could almost be subtitled Portrait of a Dickhead.

Thanks. Theoretically a film can achieve a Five Junior Mint rating, but the prerequisites are stiff. A film with Hayley Mills in the cast can post a 4 1/2 JM rating, while a full 5 JM rating requires Hayley nude. I know of only one flick that meets the mark: 'The Family Way' - which, as we all know, was scored by one Sir Paul Macca. A pretty good film all around, despite the distraction of Hayley Mills. Nude, no less.

Thor: The Dark World.  A fun romp, and set up for another sequel.

My girls and I watched a haunted-house movie called "Haunt" last night that we found on Redbox. The plot overall didn't really make sense -- nothing was really resolved at the end -- but there were many truly frightening "jump" moments. I even screamed at one point, LOL. And I'm a pretty seasoned scary-movie fan!

I liked that too. I'm a bit of an Avengers movie fan.

X-Men Days Of Future Past

Took the family. We're comic book nerds and liked it. The Quicksilver kitchen scene was awesome.

Silver Linings Playbook

Finally saw this on the tube and really liked it. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence owned this. Fantastic job by both. Recommended
