I'm gonna have to go with Rolling Stones. They got me into classic rock in the first place and everytime i listen to songs like "Under my Thumb" or "Get off My Cloud" or "You Cant Always Get What You Want" i cant help but feel terrific.
-
It's a hard one between Floyd and Zeppelin, but I'll have to go with Led Zeppelin...they're just amazing, great classics like dazed and confused, whole lotta love, immigrant song, kashmir, trampled underfoot, i could be going on and on...
-
Cant put Cream and Eric Clapton Solo under the same category...not in the same league.
-
love those stones. They've got to be up there close to the Beatles
-
PINK f***ING FLOYD
2. Rolling Stones
3. Cream
4. Led Zeppelin
5. Jimi Hendrix Experience
-
Pink Floyd \m/
-
Pink Floyd for me too
The Best group behind the beatles
-
Cream... Jack Bruce is one talented man!
Aswell as Clapton and Bakers input.
-
Ooo, I had to do eenie meenie between Floyd and the Who!!! I love them both equally! The Stones are cool and all, but I just don't listen to them much anymore. Not interested.
-
Pink Floyd right here, my second favorite band of all-time...though i love all of the other choices
-
PS
Tim, it wasn't the Beatles that got you into classic rock?? I'm stunned.
-
Lol, Hendrix got me into classic rock, then I found about The beatles and they became my favorite group of all-time!! ;D
-
Wait a minute. You THEN found out about the Beatles?? Jeez, I thought everyone knew at least 10 Beatles songs by the time they were born! ;D
Anyway, the Beatles got me into music in the first place. (like at age 4)It was nothing but the Beatles there for a while! And then came the rest. Like it should be!
-
of course ive heard " Yellow Submarine" and " I want to hold your hand", but ive never heard a single sgt pepper or white album song before i was into classic rock
-
Heres 10 i heard before i was into them:
Yellow submarine
I want to hold your hand
Here comes the sun
She loves you
Youve got to hide your love away
good day sunshine
and, i forgot the rest, but i ment i knew who they were and some of thier songs but i was never into them before, then i GOT INTO THEM, when my freind was playing Sgt Pepper, and i never knew they had so many good songs
-
I was joking with you! I like to tease. Of course people KNOW who the Beatles are from like birth! But I see your point. I still spend a lot of time trying to get people to listen to LATER Beatles stuff!! They just think of the same 10 songs and say they're dated or something. They're totally missing out!! :D
-
LOL, i was wearing a Beatles shirt to school and some guy called me a Homo, and said The Beatles were the gayest people on earth and they F**k eachother, he must be thinking about I want to hold your hand ( even though i like that song)...uhhh, i explained it in another post
-
What a lunatic!! I wore a Beatles shirt to school once (years ago!) and a guy said to me "The Beatles??" Like there was something wrong with them. So all I said was, they're a good band. So he just said, "Yeah, I guess." Couldn't argue with me could he! But I don't know what I would have done to him had he called them gay or something. That's just ignorance though. They have no clue so they just make fun of it. Meanwhile, more than half of the crap bands they're into wouldn't exist without the Beatles. Even the rappers give the Beatles credit!! It's just a fact that they are the greatest band ever and some people just CANNOT handle that!!
-
Damn Right! lol

It was the Beatkles that led me to my eventual obsession with mosat types of 60s music, but when I was 17 the Stones were actually my favourite group. At the time I felt they were a lot darker which helped me deal with my dad dying.
But I actually love a lot of 60s groups: Beach Boys, Kinks, Who, Small Faces, Easybeats, Masters Apprentices...list goes on
-
Animals, crosby Stills and Nash, The Experience, Cream, Yardbirds, Big Brother and Holding Co., Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Stones, to continue sanges list

Pink is in the lead!

Pink Floyd were a second major influence (behind The Beatles of course) and very responsible for me entering into the world of a musician. Jimi has taught me much aswell and I respect all other bands on the list. All great creators.
