I was just thinking. If I were ever asked to explain who the Beatles were to aliens/ETs, this is what I would say:
Who were the Beatles?
If you’ll listen a bit, I’ll tell you
They were not Abraham, Martin, Simon, and John
Rather they were
John, Paul, George, and Ringo
Once they were one with Best
Then they became three with Rich
Richie got the best of Best, didn’t he?
Then Brian came along and heard their song
George listened to George
And Paul carried John into music making land
Paul taught John how to write
Now, wasn’t that nice
Pete cried the blues and wrote a book
In it, he said, I got snooked!
He sued the Beatles
And the Beatles lamented
However, they never relented
And so the Best of the Beatles
Was now considered the Worst
Then the Beatles hit the Big Time
The lads were just so darn fab
And girls screamed
And Ed Sullivan emceed
And you – you bought all their records
As did I and all my friends
Then one day Paul died
Then Brian died and Stu
Well, he died before they did
Then the Beatles split up
And ten years later
John died
And 20 later, so did George
And yet, the whole thing
The whole big legend of the Fabs
