« on: November 26, 2004, 05:02:31 AM »

Can we have a page on this site about movies about The Beatles?  What movies do you all know that are about The Beatles lets start a list shall we:

Backbeat
Birth Of The Beatles
In His Life: The John Lennon Story
Just The Two Of US
Hours And Times
The Linda McCartney Story
and
Daydream Believers: The Monkees Story  I know its about the Monkees but it has The Beatles in it for like a split second.

Not really about Beatles, but Beatle fans.

I just love I Wanna Hold Your Hand.

Period detail is great, the songs always coincide with the scenes, and it's funny too!
for example:
'John' trips 'Ringo' in the hotel room because 'Ringo' put up a big picture of himself  in John's closet.

Logged
John: You're just a lonely old man from Liverpool.
Grandfather: But I'm clean!
John: Are ya?

Can anyone tell me about that movie? I've never seen it, but judgeing from some reviews I read it's not very good.

Some of my friends and I saw Two Of Us. One friend said, "The script's bad, but Paul's nice to look at."

Birth Of The Beatles is one of the cheesiest & crappiest movies about the Beatles I have ever seen but it's better than the Two Of Us.

The movie Hours and times is crap, I have a vhs copy of it really does suck. And while I'm on about movies, I just bought Backbeat on ebay and I forgot how much it sucked as well, as I saw in the theatre in 93. Ian Hart portrays John in both films, he is very stiff and speaks his lines almost robotically. Also in both films overacting abounds and scripts are cheesy. If they can't make a realistic movie, why bother?

He was Irish? I didn't know. I knew Paul and George were part Irish. Or am I wrong there too? Anyway, all Beatles movies suck because they don't use their music and they're always cheesy. I wish they'd do it right already. They need to make three separate movies. The early years, the Beatlemania years, and the break up years. A Beatles trilogy! With the actual music, British actors that can actually play instruments and a script that doesn't rely on gossip.
