Peter Brown's The love you make back in the late 80's sometime. I've still got it too. Most of the books I've read have been from the library though. The only other 2 I own are Revolution in the head and G.Emericks H,T & E.
-
I think it was probably The Love You Make or The Illustrated Lyrics. I'm not quite sure though because I got a lot of Beatles books for Christmas that year, when everyone knew about my new obsession.
-
WOW, thats a tough one! I own so many BEATLES books, that I need to convert another room into a library. It would have to be THE BEATLES by Hunter Davies from 1968.
-
Me too. My first Beatles book was The Beatles: The Authorized Biography by Hunter Davies first edition 1968. My sister cut out some of the pictures to make a scrapbook about a month after I bought it.
Today the book is on the shelf in my den. My sister's scrapbook is next to it.

Now that's a good question that I'm curious to hear an answer to! ha2ha

My sister also drew her version of the Revolver cover on my White Album. Now this was a replacement White Album that I bought in 1969. My first was a first day release. I stood in line all night outside Macy's in NYC waiting for the store to open so I could buy the album. I'm sure it had a low serial number and might be worth a lot today. But I gave it to a girlfriend a few months later. Who knew?!?!
The White Album with its unique cover art is filed with my other Beatles LPs

Yes, it was. She was OK Once when we were walking in Greenwich Village, she spotted a groovy vest in the window of a second-hand clothing store. She ran in and bought it and gave it to me saying "Here, this wll look good on you. Put it on."
Yeah, she was OK, Mairi!

Aww!

Aww!
Yeah ;)
It was this dark charcoal-colored vest probably from a three-piece suit. Like what Dylan wore in the Subterranean Homesick Blues video.

As I've always said, there's a story behind every BEATLES album!

That's so much fun to read!
-
My first Beatle book was "Images of the Beatles" by Tim Hill.
-
Hm; my first Beatles book was the (justifiably) vilified The Lives of John Lennon (I didn't know any better!). I don't think I even finished it, actually, but moved straight on to what I consider my true first Beatles book: The Love You Make.
-
I think if I remember right, my first Beatles book(s) (I got all three at once) were:
The Complete Beatles Chronicle by Mark Lewisohn
Blackbird: The Life And Times Of Paul McCartney by Geoffrey Giuliano
and
Shout! The Beatles in Their Generation by Philip Norman

I just bought that one. I love it!
