I feel genuinely sorry for him when I see him on stage.

I don't think you should feel sorry. He's finally getting the applause and cheers he deserved for 40 years.

It might have seemed awful, but if you know where the guy's coming from, it wasn't too bad.

Yeah. Brian was having fun and seemed relaxed during the performance.

True...Good point. Feeling sorry was the wrong choice of words...Maybe a little sad? I'm gutted for him that he's missed out on so much music making. Peace, love and mucho respect to him though.

The thing is... If you're gonna see Brian Wilson live nowadays, it depends on your attitude if you're gonna like it or not. If you're going with the idea that you're going to see a great musical genius at work, you're gonna be dissapointed. If you're going with the idea that you can go see a living legend in person and listen to a really great cover band at the same time, than it's cool.

I found it a bit sad as well. I hope someone in the background isn't influencing him to do this - his name is worth millions.
I hear what you're saying BisciutPower, but I found it rather unpleasant. I think he needs to go home.

I think he needs to go home.

He's spend decades of his life in bed. It's good that he's finally on the road.

I'm going to see Mike Love and "The Beach Boys" (cue eye roll) on the 7th of August.

Mike Love is a complete a**hole and I've heard that the recent Beach Boys shows are beyond embarrassing, but I'd still go see them if they came here... Cause after all, Mike was the lead singer on most of the Beach Boys' hits...

His "ego" is big enough for the entire band! The fact that they are still billed as "THE BEACH BOYS" is a sham! 2 brothers are gone "Brian's" not there where's the BEACH BOYS?

It's amazing to me to find that Mike Love never gets appreciation for some of his beutiful words he wrote for Brian's songs.

If you think about it, most of the Beach Boy Ballads that we all croon to were by Mike. Granted it's really Brians melodies and music and ideas that set the scene....but it was Mike who put those into perfect words.

Please Let Me Woner and Kiss Me Baby are two amazing example of this....oh and The Warmth Of The Sun.

He was an amazing lyricist on par with Tony Asher I think but he always had that 'commercial is better' view so that's why there were outsiders.

Think about his Good Vribrations vs. Tony Ashers....no comparison in my mind. Mikes words on that song are truly beautiful.

I don't like Mike at all.

In every interview I read of him he's constantly bragging about how important he was for the Beach Boys and that people actually liked the Beach Boys because of his positivity...

He should just give it a rest and accept that he was never more than a mediocre singer and (for a few years) a decent lyricist.

Mike is a bit of an ass, but I'm still going, 'cause how many people nowadays can say they've seen the Beach Boys live? Plus, big acts NEVER come to my hometown. So this is a rare occasion for everyone.
