World Music Awards
« on: November 23, 2008, 06:21:41 AM »

Has there been a topic on this? I thought there was. Well, it's airing soon here. Ringo is going to make a special appearance and I think he gets some sort of award. And they're going to honor the Beatles. So look out for it people!

It's some award show I've never heard of. And apparently, it has nothing to do with actual "world music." I mean, Madonna, Kid Rock, and Mariah Carrey hardly qualify as world music. It's already happened, but hasn't aired here yet. Has anyone seen it?

Here's their website:

Pics of Ringo performing can be seen. Woo hoo.

there was one music award show (dont think it was "world music awards"),  where Macca got an award and  said "I hope to get the opportunity to sing ... to his [Obama's] wife. I have a little song ready for him," the former Beatle said. Asked what tune he has in mind, McCartney purred the start to one of the most famous songs of the '60s: "Michelle."

I watched the first bit (until after the New Kids On The Block preformed).  The sould quality was terrible, I don't know if it was the network's broadcast or just the sound quality there or what.

If Obama doesn't take him up on that, I'll be very disappointed. But something tells me Macca's gonna be at the White House Inaugural party. That just pretty much guaranteed him an invite!

Well, it's airing right now. I missed the first hour. But they just said Ringo is coming up, so I guess I didn't miss much. Wonder how he'll look.  It's in Monte Carlo. No wonder he was there.

I couldn't take it anymore. I turned the channel for like five minutes and completely missed Ringo! Waste of time.

Sorry I missed it but sounds like I didn't miss out on much.  I would like to see Paul singing to the First Lady though, that would be cool!
