From Macon, Georgia ...The Allman Brothers Band.  As a guitarist, I've always held Dickey Betts in highest esteem.  Here's what I mean...

Hi Hello Goodbye! How are you? I am glad that you started an ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND thread, I really love this band! In my opinion, I've always considered both THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND and LYNYRD SKYNYRD the all-time greatest Southern Rock bands ever! I LOVE THE ALLMAN BROTHERS AT FILLMORE EAST live album, it has to rank as one of Rock's all-time greatest live albums ever! Here's a song from the live Fillmore East concert in New York City in 1971, enjoy! R.I.P Duane Allman, Born 20 November 1946, Died 29 October 1971 at age 24.

I wish I could play guitar like Dickey Betts.  I never will...it's a special gift.  And he passed it on to Duane.

Duane even looks like his daddy!

Its hard playing the guitar like Dickey Betts and Duane Allman, they both really knew how to light up a venue when they performed live.
