Since I have been a dedicated Beatles fan for a long time now I know Paul is one of the greatest singers, songwriters, musicians & performers of all time with few equals besides I don't think giving some constructive criticism of Sgt. Pepper & Give My Regards To Broadstreet as a fan means I hate Paul McCartney.

Paul McCartney is a real punching bag for critics and unjustly so.  Sure some of his solo work can be called fluff but geez not every one can make a masterpiece every time.

I once heard someone say, and it's so true, that if Paul wrote and sang "Imagine" critics would call it "schmaltz" and "sugary fluff".  I think that's so true.  Seems like Paulie can't do anything right for some people :(

I think true Beatle fans such as yourself have every right to be critical. I am also a HUGE fan but I don't happen to like Abbey Road - so what!

Broadstreet truly WAS crap though! LOL

Yes, true. I think if you want to believe what ever you want to believe then do so and like if some one tells you they don't like you or some one else, you should never waste your time arguing with anyone and just believe what you think is right...lol idk thats my theory..lol.

And I believe that Paul is the Beast....lol.

So true! How about if Paul wrote any of the Double Fantasy stuff?? He would have been crucified! 'I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go 'round and 'round..." Not exactly groundbreaking stuff. But hey, they aged and became mellow and domesticated. So what? Paul has as much great solo stuff as the others. Most people only know about Maybe I'm Amazed and Band on the Run.  There's more out there. (Just not recently!!)
