How do you know if a record is an original?
« on: August 12, 2005, 04:24:48 PM »

This is to all those die hard vinyl buyers, I know records have words and stuff scratched into the run out groove area. But I would like to know how you know if a record is an original release or second release etc etc.

If you can help that'd be great.

Cheers.

The original releases cost a ton more.  ;D

Ask a dealer or an expert. Get it appraised. As with most collectibles, that's probably the only way to gain 100% surety.

Any experts or dealers on this forum?!?

It really depends what albums you're after - also is it the British or US releases? I might be able to help you with the British ones.
