In What Ways is Paul an Idiot?
« on: October 16, 2016, 01:00:21 PM »

I've seen many people say that, in many ways, Paul is a genius, but in other ways, he is a fool.

In what ways is Paul an idiot?

I can't think of any.  Why don't you share what you think?

I can't think of any either. That's why I am asking. When people say Paul is an idiot in many ways, they never say in what ways. I thought that this community would know, so I posted a thread here.

He's an idiot in the way that he tries to stay relevant and with the times when he should just relish his age and act and write accordingly.

He's an idiot with all the silly stuff he does.  For instance, quit standing on stage and having the audience repeat all the little dumb phrases you come up with.  Just shut up and sing a song already.  A lot of this is why people look at him as a joke instead of a serious musician.

He was an idiot for getting involved with Heather Mills.

He's an idiot if he doesnt think his colored hair looks stupid.

Etc,,,,,

Harsh but unfortunately true. Especially the Heather Mills thing.

Does it matter? I love the music he has done with other three guys, what else should I care? I hope the best to him; but I just enjoy the art and I'm not interested in analyzing, criticizing or idolizing the artist.

I saw that earlier today. Somehow, it rings true - Paul's aloof attitude. And yet, who else has walked in those footsteps? Let's enjoy the music.

I think either Phil Collins is over-reacting or the press is making up stuff.  I'm sure Paul knew the story of Phil Collins being in the audience at the end of A Hard Day's Night.  This is what Paul undoubtedly meant when he said "our little Phil..."

I hadn't considered that angle. It would be nice if that's the case.

Maybe he's over being teased by Beatles after George played the joke on him about his percussion playing on All Things Must Pass

It's strange isn't it I don't see it as an insult, but very funny..... if Paul said that to me I would laugh my head off

Why? Nobody forces you to see or listen to him. In my mind Paul has been retired since more than 40 years ago, and I'm not looking for his new material. But others still enjoy his music, so why should they be private of more Paul? Just ignore his "mess" and listen to the music you like instead!

The Phil Collins thing is a storm in a teacup and typical of that odious, over-hyped, thin-skinned, selfish little turd who isn't fit to shine Paul's shoes.

McCartney is human, and errs just as we all do, only he does it under the powerful magnifying glare of enduring global fame. Inevitably he's put a foot wrong here and there. In particular the one he marched down the aisle alongside his own two feet back in 2002. BIG mistake Paul!!

And the less said about "Press To Play" the better.

But an "idiot"? no way. He has his critics but he's a pretty shrewd operator and, I'd like to think, a pretty nice guy beyond the limelight.

If he has one failing which I personally find irritating it's his inbuilt craving for approval and appreciation. Jeez this guy has done more than any other living rock star to validate himself and justify his legacy, but STILL he seems to need that audience adulation. Can't help the way we're made I suppose. But he long ago transcended the need to prove anything. Sometimes he cares too much about how he's perceived.
