I have been trying to find info on the sunglasses that John Lennon wore in the video promo for the song Rain. Does anyone know what the brand name/manufacturer, or the style of the sunglasses are? My goal is to find a pair and buy them, if that's possible. Any help is appreciated.

Remember, don't get the Ray Ban Olympian...

...unless you want to look like Captain America...

You need the vintage Olympian II    ;)

You may be right saying that the vintage Ray-Ban Olympian II Deluxe Brown B-15 lenses may be as close as you can get to the style worn by Lennon. The lenses that Lennon is sporting look rectangular, so, I don't think the Ray Bans are the glasses that are in the video. IMO.

Right, that's as close as it gets for commercially available sunglasses today.  The Olympian II is no longer cataloged by Ray-Ban.  The sticker on the lens is the 1995 Olympic Games sponsor sticker they put on their sunglasses at the time.  They're long out of production as are my Ray-Ban Rounds.  The Olympian IIs can still be found on eBay.

A good optician can rework the frame and grind a couple of custom brown lenses to fit for you.  Just show him the above picture.

Ask the optician to make a second set of light brown lenses so you can look cool in the studio.    ;)

Thanks for your comments Hello Goodbye. If I get the Ray Bans I will try to get the brown lenses as you say, to look cool...lol...By the way, did you have your own Beatles website 10 0r 15 years ago? If so I bought several bootlegs from your site (The Paul McCartney 2002 U.S. tour, and some other things too.).

I hope I've helped you a bit, Steven.  John wore glasses and might have had an optician rework the frame for his prescription lenses.  His sunglasses don't look very comfortable with the lens frames resting on his nose like that.  The Ray-Ban has the necessary cutaway.  Anyway, the upper part of the frame and the temple pieces are definitely vintage Ray-Ban Olympian II.

No, I never had my own Beatles website.  I've just been around here for the past eleven years.

It looks like Paul had some light brown lenses for his glasses as well.   :)
