Zak Starkey, Ringo's son, plays drums on the two new tracks on the Who's "Then and Now: 1964-2004." It comes out March 30 and he is also going out on tour with them. It is the first new songs from the Who since 1982.

Zak had been touring with the Who for years, and seeing as they performed all their old hits, he had to faithfully reproduce Keith Moon's sound - so in effect he WAS like Keith!

Keith Moon accidentally ran over his Chauffeur and killed him. Keith then hit the booze and pills really hard and basically self-destructed.

no he was at the holiday inn and fans were all around the car.so he got out to move them.and when he was behind the car keith was behind the wheel and some how keithy backed over him.
another who fact they didn't turn a profit till the album whos next started selling big.
another the who were called the high numbers on detour records.

Yeah, that's right PC I remember now.
Another Who fact: The High Numbers supported the Beatles on one of their tours! What an amazing concert that must've been!

no he was cleared of wrong doing but it devestated him.keith was a happy guy he had endless energy and enjoyed being friends with ringo,who was supposed to be in the movie tommy as uncle ernie but that fell thru.he does sing two songs and in the chourus on one release.i have it too....

When did Moonie drive the car into the swimming pool? Was it before or after he ran his chauffeur over? Lets be honest,,,,the guy didnt belong behind the wheel. :-/

i think that was b4 actually in 73....holiday inn again i think too....i don't think he had a licsense.
i was watching an old ringo special i taped called going home it has zak in it and him and pop do a jam session.

I seem to recall that Keith Moon was out having a meal with Paul & Linda the night he died (anyone confirm?). Perhaps he choked on Linda's veggie Lasagne!

There will NEVER be another rock drummer like the late, great Keith Moon of the Who but Zak Starkey is a great drummer in his own right!!!
