I think John would be laughing his ass off if he were still alive with Paul & the Stones touring this year. He would be about as cynical as you can get cutting them down with his brutal opinions as he did in his last interviews.
-
No, I think he would have mellowed in his old age. And hopefully he and Paul would've patched things up by now so he would be supportive of Paul.

I agree. And he was already softening up, so I don't get the cyincal comment. I mean, of course he still was, but not as bad. Let's see...he'd probably be touring with Sean or something. Help kickstart his career at Yoko's request. Or they'd be divorced and he'd have to tour with Paul just to get back all the money from the divorce settlement. ;)

I agree 1000%. I could also see him being a big part of the post-911 causes/benefits. Even though at the time of his last interviews he hated the idea of doing benefits, but 1). there have been so many since 1980 that were much better organized than they were pre-1980, and he was basing his views (at least partly) on the Bangladesh fiasco, and 2). It would have been for a city that he loved and considered his home. Can you imagine him and Paul coming out for the last part of the "Concert For New York"??? He would have mellowed. You're talking about 25 years.

I think so too, he would provably still do some interviews with the stones ;D...
-
I'd think John would just laugh!

You are living in fantasy land with that comment.

We're talking about a dead guy, isnt it all fantasy then?

I don't know what John would have thought about anything. He was always changing.
-
Maybe the Masked Marauders would have come to fruition after all.
-
It's all hypothetical, isn't it? I don't know. I really, really feel they would have made up a long time ago and John would be happy for Paul within, but sort of competitive as well.
I also think it would be SO exciting if they would be standing anywhere near each other at their age. All that magnificence would be too good to be true.
-
I think John WOULD be cracking up with his usual biting humor & brutlal opinions about Paul & the Stones touring this year if he were still alive.

I don't know. The Stones sound better live now than they ever have, and Paul is the consummate professional. Alot of time has passed.
-
I disagree. The Stones are still a great live band but they aren't like they were back in the 60's & the 70's juniorsfarm. Paul is a consumate professional & a great performer ,which goes without saying, but he's not what he used to be. I think John would be laughing at McCartney & the Stones for touring this year worrying about their legacies for some reason.

Wayne thinks theres a cut-off point for musicians. After 50 they should all be shipped to the glue factory in his opinion.
Your right about the Stones too Junior, they sound better live now than in the 60's and 70's.

I see. Their wild oats have turned to Oatmeal and they serve no useful purpose. Off to the shredder.

-
If they got divorced, John wouldn't be the one who initiated it, it would be Yoko. Poor John, he was so dependent on that woman.
-
nah, i think they would be together now... or actually....
-
Agreed, I think he would have mellowed up a bit in his age and they would put any and all ego behind them.
-
Some of you make some sense & some of you don't. I think John would be laughing his ass off about Paul & the Stones touring this year. Reading his last interviews before his untimely death is how I come to my conclusion.
-
Well, you may be right..but that was 1980...alot changes. People change.
-
Do you really believe John & Paul would be performing together & writing songs again if he were still alive this year Indica?
-
Some of you make some sense & some of you don't.

Why would anyone have a problem with anyone touring and creating, regardless of age? If they are up to the task, God Bless 'em. John Lennon would be no exception. He was planning on doing concerts after 'Double Fantasy' was released. Yoko is still trying to tour, but can't sell tickets anywhere in the world and she's 93 years old. I'm sure John would be behind her 100%.

Its got to be a better view than the front of her.

Id like to think the same...
-
If John would be laughing his @ss off at the Stones and McCartney for touring, it would only be because he was the consumate prick and a mental midget.
I'm pretty sure he'd have better things to laugh about.
I think John would be laughing his ass off in interviews at McCartney & the Stones touring this year not because he would have been a prick saying so but that it isn't 1965 anymore.

I think John, being 65 years old himself, might even be joining Paul or the Stones on stage. I think he would think it's okay for them to perform if they feel like doing it.
-

This sums it up IMO. Think about the TWA Revolution, with his double 'You can count me out/in' line. For all we know he might have reformed the Fab Four in the eighties. Just impossible to say really.
-
Welcome back. Good God-you've been beating the sh*t out of this for 5 months. You come back and pick up where you left off. Fine, John would be laughing his ass off according to you, who gives a f***?
According to me. I suppose you think John would be touring as well?
-
I could see him actively creating. I think he would especially have gotten involved in post 9/11 concerts since he loved the City so much, and he was planning to tour after Double Fantasy was released, at the same time his contemporaries were. Paul was touring up to the bust in Japan, the Stones did a huge tour in 1981, so of course. He could have been laughing his ass off then, but didn't, he was planning to be out on the road.
