Not an album I listen to too much. I am listening to it now. When I picked it as my avatar, I was listening to Wings final rehearsal and they were doing Average Person. Made me remember how I like that song.

You are forgiven, for now! ;)

Yes I have come from there. Just looking for some intriguing conversation.

I "borrowed" my brother's CD of Abbey Road when I was 14 and never gave it back :) but the first one I actually went out and purchased myself was Sgt. Pepper's.
-
I rented my first beatles CD's at the library, than I got one for my birthday, but the first I bought was 'Live at the BBC'.
-
Right around 1975 The Blue Album "Beatles 67-70" Followed real close by The Red album and all the rest. Albums, 8-tracks, cassettes, mono cd's, stereo cd's, mp3's, on and on.
-
I got pretty much all of my Beatles CDs as gifts. I think one of the only one's I bought myself was Abbey Road. The first vinyls that I bought were the purchases this past weekend - Abbey Road and Revolver.
-
The Beatles "1" cd.
-
The first Beatles album I ever got on audiocassette was the Red album (as a gift). The first Beatles CD I ever bought was the White album. That was also the first day I owned a CD player, and I remember I also got to miss school because I was sick. But somehow I wasn't so ill that I couldn't go out and buy Beatles music...what a dedicated fan...LOL.
-
'Help' was the first CD I ever bought. Its when it came out whenever that was.
-
My first Beatles purchase was Sgt. Pepper, on audio cassette, when I was in 8th grade. It was totally life-changing-- my parents had brought me up on such lame easy-listening music that I feel like I was hearing something totally new. It might have been almost like what it was like to first hear it in the '60s....
Then I rapidly accumulated the entire Beatles collection on tape and vinyl, and eventually had to switch over to CDs.... But I haven't completed the CD changeover, so some albums I still have to pull out the vinyl for,
-
started with blue 2cd, can't get better
-
The Beatles Oldies but Goldies on 8-track cartridge
-
what was the first album or cd...etc you bought
it was Piper at the gates of dawn by Pink Floyd.
-
Beatles in Hamburg (Tony sheridan sessions.) I was 14ish, had a token, and it was the only band name I recognised. (You bought LP's in appliance stores in those days, and the choice was limited.) I knew nothing about The Beatles, and was shocked at how sh*t it was.
I bought Rolf Harris's Greatest Hits next. Much much better

I remember appliance stores selling records. In fact, where I grew up in Hounslow, the best place to buy Punk/New Wave singles was Rumbelows in the High Street. You could buy a toaster on the way out.
My first album was A Hard Day's Night, but that was bought for me as I would only have been about 8 or 9 at the time. I think the first I bought myself was either 'Slade Alive', or one of those 'Mowtown Chartbusters' compilations.

We have a Tony Sheridan record with the Beatles at my house. We'll just say that we're not fans of Tony Sheridan. :-/

The first Beatles album I bought was "Help!" on cassette, in 1999. The first CDs I bought were the Red and Blue albums that same year.
-
The first Beatles CD I bought was The Blue Album (67-70) for which I still amazingly have the reciept!
-
First CD I bought was Sgt Pepper. I bought it on June 1, 1987. I didn't even have a CD player until months later. I had a Blue box, that I listened to, and a few American Albums.
-
Well, my first Beatles CD was "live at the BBC", as that was the only DoCD at that moment in that store (strange that there was no blue or red album). I actually think that was quite a nice start, I enjoyed hearing them talk ( " I'm John and I too play a guitar, sometimes I play the fool ... " - hillarious ;D ) and the songs are great. Still like the album a lot and listen to it regulary.
-
First album: MMT
First CD: DSOTM, because the Fabs weren't available. But the day they were available, the first four. Sounded soooooooooooo good ...
-
Beatles 1, I wanted to get into them and I thogut the #1's were the best place to start.. now I am completely hooked! LOL
-
Please Please Me and Help!, in one purchase.
-
Out Of The Blue by ELO - how much I have have cherished it!
-
Beatles 1, I had worn out the one my dad gave me so I saved up for another one. That CD was the first really real music I had listened to (I was seven) I'm glad my love for music started with the Beatles :)
-
I was given the Red album, the Blue album and Yellow Submarine for Christmas in 1976 when I was 9. My aunt had bought them second hand and I played them non-stop on my really crappy record player.
I used to listen to YS a lot back then (well, I only had three albums!!) and it never struck me as strange that side 2 was all orchestral music. I would play the March of the Meanies song especially loud because it used to scare my younger brother (I now feel guilty about being so cruel!)
The first record I bought myself was the Hollywood Bowl LP in 1977. I used to spend ages looking at the inner sleeve which had all the other Beatles LPs listed, with the song titles. I could list the tracks on every Beatles album, in the right running order, long before I'd even heard the albums!!
I then bought all the other LPs over the next few years - the two-box EMI pressings - and I got the box set of singles as a present from the same aunt who'd bought my original 3 LPs. I still have all my old records and play them to this day.
It was years before I actually spent money on any record that wasn't the Beatles - I think it was probably the Rolled Gold compilation by the Stones.
-
First album: Rubber Soul
First CD: Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (when first released on CD June 1987..."It was twenty years ago today")
-
I remember having to the Red Album, MMT, Love Songs, and Yellow Submarine. I have no idea which came first, but these are the ones I know I had. Then I'd always borrow my cousins albums cuz she had them all! Mostly I remember staring at the inside of Love Songs and reading/staring at the pics in the MMT booklet over and over and over and over. While listening to the music of course. Ah, simpler days...
-
Received both '62-66 & '67-70' as a Christmas presents in the late 70's.
It's all been downhill since then. ha2ha
-
the first would have to be some movie soundtrack, i think spiderman, i always used to buy soundtracks when i was little.
the first beatles cd i bought was "1", but since i was a newbie, i thought it was actually one of their albums :P

Greetings from a damp UK!! Yay! My first post here :)
My first Beatles LP purchase was Please Please Me in about '75...I'd already 'borrowed' With, Hard Days Night, aand For Sale from my parents (still got 'em too!(the records, that is...though I do still have the parents too....ahem!))
Since then I've collected all the UK originals, many re-issues, and a lot of interesting foriegn releases, and I think Revolver was my first Beatles CD, though I 'had' to buy the stereo remasters on the day of release....that was a bit of a special feeling :)
Cheers,
Steve.

First album I bought with my own money was a brand new vinyl copy of Please Please Me (this was in the 80s). Made sense to start at the beginning I suppose! I soon collected the other albums on vinyl.
First Beatles CD I bought was one of those 'unauthorised live' CDs which flooded the market for $5 each a while back. It's actually a pretty good listen - has some live at the BBC stuff, some live stuff ('65 and '66), and ends with 'Yer Blues' and 'Blues Jam' from the Rock & Roll Circus.
-
The first album I bought was Let it be 6 months ago.
-
My first post!
My first album was A Hard Day's Night back in '64. (Yes, I'm that old...) Still have it, although it's just about completely worn out.

The first Beatles CD I bought was either Rubber Soul or Revolver, or maybe both at once. I'm not sure, I just remember those were my first two. That must've been in 1992 or 1993 I think. Then when I discovered punk rock I sold all my pop CDs including those two albums. Several years later I came back to my senses and the first Beatles album I got then was Anthology 2.
-
The stereo box set haha

I was introduced to The Beatles through the Red and Blue collections when I was very young, but the first actual original Beatles album I had for myself was A Hard Day's Night, which I'd borrowed/stolen from my dad. Even though it's not my fave Beatles record now, I can still remember the first time I heard it, and the warm, buzzing excitement it gave me. I remember thinking they were all so clever and talented, almost god-like. And even though I knew practically nothing about The Beatles, the songs made them seem leagues above any of the modern stuff I listened to. It started it all. :)

I got The White Album for christmas when I was four or five and then The Beatles 1 and since then I've been OBSESSED!

The very first 33 1/3 RPM I got as a gift was Yves Montand’s (mid-1900’s french singer and actor) Relaxe, along with my first ”portable” pickup: it must have been around 1965, and I was 8 or so.
The first LP I bought with my parents’ money (and assent) was Simon & Garfunkel Sounds of Silence: by mid-1969. I remember going (with my mum – I was 11) in a photo development store.
Now, the 1st LP I bought with my own pocket money – I must have been 14 – was actually two. Jethro Tull/Aqualung, along with King Crimson/In the Court of the Crimson King in a photo store, again, that carried a record section.
A few months later, I finally bought my first Beatles LP’s : the two double red and blue albums, and I was hooked, from then on. Oddly enough, it must be said that – a few years before – my younger sister already had the american Rubber Soul and Magical Mystery Tour.
Years later, needless to say, the very first CD’s (two, again) I bought were Sergeant Peppers… and Abbey Road.
-
first cd: the beatles (white album)

First CD: American Idiot by Green Day. I never actually listened to it. :P
First CD I listened to: My Prerogative (I think that's what it's called. Some compilation album anyway) by Britney Spears. Yuck.
First Beatles CD: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by You-Know-Who. Much better.

Help! LP in 1976. :)
-
I went from being a simple second-generation fan, to a collector and now I have a Beatles site where I post rarities to listen to at http://www.thebeatlesrarity.com (http://www.thebeatlesrarity.com). Check it out if you like. My first Beatles album was bought was the blue album. That was in 1976 when I was 13. I was already a Wings fan then but still had a lot to learn about the music of The Beatles. Collecting original Beatles vinyl, searching out rare versions of songs has been quite a journey - an expensive one, but very rewarding in it's own way. I love it.
