The little bit at the end just before the cut off sounds a little like the intro. But as the Imagine intro is basically C to F, it's s bit too common chord progression to conclude much from.
I wish they'd given whoever that was near the mike cough medicine.

Up to that point, it sounded "familiar" to me when I first heard that track. Those last few bars before the cut-off were very identifiable. I would have liked if they included more of that piece John was playing.

There were a couple of runs that did twig some memories. Couldn't place them. Not imagine though.

Could be. Writing/composing songs can be a matter of years. Playing around endlessly with a theme, a little thing, that suddenly comes to full blossom. The way the piano is handled sounds somewhat like Imagine.

Right, unlike Paul who woke up, fell out of bed and wrote a song that was in his head.

Yep. And only a couple of years later all he could think of doing was combing his damn hair and having a cup of coffee.
-
Yeah I heard a little something at the end there. Like Bobber said, you keep noodling with something until it clicks. Sometimes it takes you in another direction and bam you're imagining all the people.
-
Yeah I can hear snippets of Imagine Baz
most definitly
-
Hmmmm.... I can't here Imagine coming through...
-
Musically, "Imagine" is very simple (but then the song's point isn't virtuosic playing!), split chords (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWyhy220FsQ#ws) (the high-low high-low high-low sound) plus broken chords (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arpeggio) (the one-two-three pattern). Those are both very basic piano-playing techniques, but I think the progression of
split, split, split, split, split, split, split, broken,
split, split, split, split, split, split, split, broken...
is still fairly distinctive to that song, and even if you try playing it with different actual chords, people will think "Ooh, sounds like 'Imagine'."
-
I think I heard Imagine in there but the song that comes closer to me is Love. Love is real, real is love....
-
I think John was playing the intro to this..

Yep Lennons shameless ripping off of Oasis tunes doesn't get the attention it deserves.
