Title: Isle of Wight Beatles!
Post by: The End on August 09, 2005, 10:44:46 PM
Having just come back from the Isle of Wight, after seeing The Apple Beatles, I purchased a couple of, apparently, rare postcard photos of John and Ringo attending the World-famous festival back in August 1969 (correct me if I'm wrong boys!).

I meant to give these pics to Rick and Lee but forgot!

Anyway here they are:

John, Yoko and Jane Fonda spliff up at the concert!

Forelands Farm - Isle of Wight 1969

Bob Dylan and his pregnant wife Sara arrived on the Island late on Monday, 25th August. During their stay the Dylan's visited the country estate of Queen Victoria, Osborne House and were joined at Forelands by George Harrison. Rehearsals for Dylan's first major performance since his 1966 motorcycle accident were held in the barn with The Band.

John had more class as an anti-war activist during the Vietnam War because he didn't alienate Beatles fans at the time whether you agreed or disagreed with him while Jane Fonda is a traitor who should be in jail for treason but hanging out with three Beatles at IOW is smart.

I was a bit confused too. I didn't even know there was a '69 fest. Who played there? Anybody know what the lineup was? And kudos to you for those pics Al.
