Hi Hello Goodbye! "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" is a great song! In my opinion, Bacharach/David songs always bring out the best in Dionne Warwick as well as many other legendary artists. "Walk On By" is another great Bacharach/David song that was recorded and made popular by Dionne Warwick. Take care.

Wow, Sandie Shaw. The Pretty Things toured with her before and they always made her cry because of their partying and antics. She always sung in her barefeet and was doing Brian Pendleton of the Pretties even though her dad was on tour with her. Funny stuff.

Interview with Pretty Things bass player John Stax-

It was the Sandie Shaw tour. We went back to England about a week before I got married, so we were there in New Zealand for about ten days or two weeks. It was an unbelievable tour! We went down well in some of the places we did. In Auckland we didn't, but the rest of the country was all right. In Auckland we played the town hall for a couple of nights and that was all right. Then we played a nightclub and that crowd didn't take to us very kindly. On that tour, there was us and Sandie Shaw, who was a real b****.  ha2ha

Hello everyone especially you Hello Goodbye! I love every single song mentioned in this thread. WOW, Bacharach/David wrote so many great songs that were recorded by so many great artists. I don't know if these songs were mentioned but I also love the songs "Do You Know The Way To San Jose" by DIONNE WARWICK and "Everybody's Out Of Town" by B.J. THOMAS. THE BEATLES recorded a Bacharach/David song that was recorded and made popular by THE SHIRELLES, the song is "Baby Its You." I must confess, I even thought the song "That's What Friends Are For" was a Bacharach/David song since it does have the feel of a Bacharach/David composition. However, I realized that it was a Bacharach/Segar composition. In my opinion, Bacharach/Segar had a similar songwriting style of Goffin/King. Take care.

Lou Johnson - Kentucky Bluebird (Send A Message To Martha)

Lou Johnson   1964

"Almost a year later Lou cut the first of two great songs that he will be remembered most for but ‘Reach Out For Me’ only became a minor US R&B hit at #74 in October the following year. It's an outstanding song, one of Bacharach & David’s best and it inspired a mesmerising delivery from Lou with powerful production values from Bacharach. It is simply one of the best records of its kind and still sounds superb now. Fate dealt itself into the equation however when Big Top went broke just as 'Reach Out...' was moving up the Hot 100 and they simply could not keep up with the public’s demand for the record" http://www.soulmusichq.com/artists/johnson.htm (http://www.soulmusichq.com/artists/johnson.htm)

Hi In My Life! I hope all is well with you. You or no one would ever believe this but I wrote a thread on THE OSMONDS on ledzeppelin.com. I expected some serious backlash but was surprised when I didn't. In reality, THE OSMONDS were a great band that never received the recognition that they truly deserved. Many people do not realize this but THE OSMONDS truly knew how to rock. Listening to THE OSMONDS albums such as PHASE III, CRAZY HORSES and THE PLAN, many of you, including you (In My Life) and I, will be surprised on some of their songs. Some of those songs kick a*s! Take care.

Yes, I remember "Crazy Horses". "Down by the Lazy River" was a pretty good rocker too. On the other side of things, my mom would talk about how cute Donny was on the Andy Williams Show so I was happy to discover the old Christmas shows on DVD. I try to watch that every year.
That was a bold move, writing about them on a Zeppelin forum. I'm glad to hear what the reaction was!

When many Zeppelin members bought and listened to THE OSMONDS, many were SHOCKED! Everyone realized that THE OSMONDS really knew how to Rock. Did you know that THE OSMONDS "Crazy Horses" album made the top 300 all-time metal albums ever? Take care.
