they could have been during that festival because jim and gene became buddies....from what the one link contends...i never really pictured gene as that type of rocker myself...did alice play rockabilly????..or when he did stuff with a group called the outlaws...he was more a crooner or rockabilly type player...countryfied like...was the outlaw group the same one that did green grass and high tides forever??????anyone know?
when he was over seas again i guess he used sounds incorporated...still another choice that doesn't make sense for his genre of music....where were his peers?????i know eddie died but why would noone want to play with gene except for brits and rock and rollers????i mean electric funking guitars....not what gene was used too....why did he and carl perkins only record together a single time...i mean besides having four wives he play as well as some of the others...why didn't americans get it tho...maybe you brits can enlighten me.....what appealed to you overlanders about gene vincent??

In 1961 he toured South Africa. Later, he performed in Liverpool with the Beatles as an opening  act. The next four years were spent in England performing when asked and making records that didn't sell. His Capitol Records contract expired in 1963.

In 1966 he signed with Challenge records. In 1969 he played  the Toronto Peace festival but, was lost among John Lennon, Doors, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis. He returned to England until  returning to America in failing health in 1971. An attempt to land a new recording deal failed.  After  a string of  unsuccessful appearances at the San Francisco Park Festival he returned to his home to Los Angeles. . Soon there after, he was  admitted to the Inter-Valley Hospital in New Hall, California with a bleeding stomach ulcer. On October 12, 1971 he died at the age of thirty six.

gene has a spotty history and they document it like sh*t,i copied this the way it is printedwhat happened later???lol....

i think gene deserves a lot of credit for igniting rock and roll among the brits in the late fifties...i think he and eddie were better than elvis...do you think that elvis was more of an influence than gene????

I see what you're doing wrong now Marshall. Don't copy the code from the address bar of your browser. To the right of the video you'll see that it says 'About This Video'. Click on that and you'll see a line of code that looks like the the url in the address bar. But it's different. Just copy all the code that appears after the = sign, and it should work.
