Covers
« on: February 28, 2019, 12:43:01 AM »

So the Beatles covered a bunch of songs as up and coming performers themselves.  They've been covered countless times.

My question - does anyone else ever wonder, on most songs, how it would sound if one or all of the Beatles sang it, as a cover?

They stopped doing covers as they became great and other than John's Rock and Roll album I don't know of many others they copied.  Paul does, did, the George tribute and the John tribute as part of his shows.

Anyway, on way home tonight, Maggie May came on and I said to myself, Paul would sound good singing this, make it his own.

Agree/disagree?

Other songs?  I think it would be super cool if Paul covered something from an artist he respected in a show.  Ego won't let it happen unfortunately.  Remember when u2 played Help live?  A show of respect.  Cool.

Evidently to Rod Stewart too as he needed a crib sheet for the lyrics.   ;D

Trouble is with Paul’s voice getting shakier there’s probably not too many artists he could do justice to anymore. Unless it was a Tom Waits tune.
