Great songs that were made because of bad events

I just realized that some things which are criticized on different Beatles boards actually led to the creation of some great songs.

John Lennon's mother got killed by a drunk, off-duty policeman and his father had always been gone...we got "Mother". Seriously -- that's such a depressing song, but I really like it.

(Because most Beatles fans think this event was completely terrible) John meets Yoko - Happiness is a Warm Gun, I Want You (She's So Heavy), and many other really excellent Lennon songs.

That indian dude hits on the beatles wife etc..we get--"Sexy Sadie"

this is not a bad event, but The Who releases "I can see for miles" (i love that song)/ and we get "Helter Skelter"

Event:  Girl runs away from home

Result:  She's Leaving Home  (another great song from a newspaper article)

I wonder if the parents of the girl ever found out it was about their family.
