Listening to Ringo's version I wonder why he didn't sing it in 1964 and included it as Ringo's song on A Hard Day's Night.

On the American version yes. But the UK Hard Day's Night contains only 13 songs, while 14 was their rule. Ringo didn't have a song on the album, like he used to. This sounds like it could have been sung by Ringo and fitted on the album.

It's only John who could perform it making this song better than it really is.
His voice can't be replaced in this number. There's no power in Ringo's version. Well, he's not a good singer imho.   :'(
