How much does it normally cost Rick, for a profesional job?

A good refinish job will start at about $350.00 us and go up from there, depending on the job and how much work is involved. This does not mean spot finishing or touch ups, these are alot cheaper and based on the job, this cost is for a total refin. The challenge being, is the guitar worth the cost of refining or if it is a vintage collectible do you want to ruin the value. Most of the time it is a personal choice  made by the guitar owner and his wallet. :)

Lenny, I love the Bigsby trems, but your right they will go out of tune easily. They are also the coolest looking trems on the market. I have one on my Ric 325 and I love it on the short scale. :)

Yeah my short scale and Bigsby get along fine. If you are going to buy off ebay make sure your getting the right model. Its the flat bottomed horseshoe shaped Bigsby, model E-5 I think. I'll  check this weekend a make sure though' they are great if your playing rythm and dont hammer your guitar when you strum or pick. I have the 325 V-58 Hamburg (natural finish) with the Bigsby and a Gretch Tennesseean with a Bigsby along with a later model 325 Miami(black finish)that I reto fittited a Bigsby and gold pickguard  and round aluminum knobs to look like John's 325 after he had his first one(natural finish) painted black. It turned out too cool and is still my favorite axe.

yeah the one i was looking at was the horseshoe shaped Bigsby...i think one of the other reasons i didnt get it.. was because i wasnt sure how easy they were to fit .. and if i got a pro to do it . it would probably cost a bit ...

Probably about $45.00 to $100.00 us. I get about $60.00 plus strings cost to change them out from the standard "R" tail piece or the Rickenbacker ice pick style vibrato to the Bigsby. So, its not really that expensive here, but I dont know what a qualified tech there would charge. Its not really that hard to do yourself. just drilling a couple of holes. The trick is to make sure the strings and Bigsby tail piece are lined up correctly. If you get the correct Bigsby its made to fit directly on your Ric. without modifications being made to the guitar. 8)

I thought I'd revive this thread...Miss Riccy's advice! lol

I bought a real old Encore Coaster Strat off Ebay a while back and have finally managed to string her up with a bodged enforced nut, a spring, some t.l.c and she has luckily plugged in a beauty.

Cost me 30 quid (15 was postage). I'm quite pleased with myself. My first electric guitar! lol

I just finished painting Dylan on my guitar case. Not trying to brag or anything, but I think it looks super cool. If my mom lets me use her digital camera from work, I'll post a pic for you guys.
