long b4 lennon i was exposed to the steel guitar...most country and western players can play one...here is an interesting video i came across...

Sneaky Pete is a one of a kind.  Played with Flying Burrito Brothers and even a cat named John Lennon (on Mind Games).  Introduced overdrive to steel guitar.  Also used odd number of strings and different tunings.  One of the greats.

I can't stand the sound of it. It hurts my nerves. That's probably why I wasn't interested in George's solocarreer anymore. He kept coming up with the damn thing.

no john played it...george dabbled but didn't make too many recordings with him playing it...johnny being a country fan at heart always revisits his roots..
