Hi.
Firstly, sorry if this topic has been discussed elsewhere - I just did a search and couldn't find a thread about the Love Songs LP but I can't believe there wouldn't have been one at some point.
Anyway, I have just been listening to a bootleg compilation CD called All Together Now, which features lots of hard-to-find mixes which were all officially released but are not the common mixes we all know and love.
I knew that two early Beatles B-sides (This Boy and Yes It Is) were remixed in stereo especially for the Love Songs LP because this was the first time they had been released in stereo.
I also knew that the song Girl was given a new remix for this LP because they were considering releasing it as a single.
But the All Together Now compilation features a version of Norwegian Wood which it says has also been remixed for the Love Songs LP.
Does anyone know why Norwegian Wood was remixed? I originally thought it might be because George Martin wasn't happy with the original 1965 Rubber Soul stereo mixes, but then I realised that Michelle and In My Life are also on Love Songs but they don't feature on this All Together Now set, so presumably weren't remixed in 1977.
