The Beatles' love of American music helped enrich them and us

One of the best parts of the Beatles story is how their love of American music not only influenced their music but helped introduce that music to a lot of young listeners. Songs done by Carl Perkins, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Larry Williams and the Isley Brothers, among others, were all recorded or performed by the Beatles. And it was through the Beatles that a lot of listeners, especially Americans, heard some of these songs for the first time.
