Fashion for ladies with bigger sizes was not hot in the late 60's I guess.

Yeah, the dress in the Creeque Alley video isn't too flattering but they had one of her other outfits on display at the Hall of Fame and it was gorgeous. I hope to run across an image of her wearing it.

We know thats not the case. She did as many drugs as the rest of them.

And just think, it wasn't the drugs that killed her, she choked to death because of a sandwich.

Some voices were created to sing together.

THE MAMAS AND THE PAPAS were one of them.

For those of you who miss Cass' voice, listen to her kid sister, Leah Kunkle. Here is a duet she did with Jimmy Webb. Genetics!

She had a very rich, soaring voice. Powerful and commanding. It makes me sad that people have turned her into a fat joke after her death when she was so much more than that. She seemed like a truly beautiful soul.

What do you mean? I don't think I've seen her referred to as a 'fat joke'.

Unfortunately at the time there were rude remarks made about her and the cause of her death.  I don't care to repeat them.  I'm happy to see that in the forty years that have passed, they're finally forgotten.

This is actually not true; she died from heart complications brought on by weight lost too quickly, if I recall correctly. The whole ham-sandwich tale started because the authorities found a half-eaten sandwich in the flat (which, BTW, is the same one Keith Moon died in).

Looks like I was a bit off:

Although some sources claim her death was due to a heart attack or heart failure, her death certificate attributes death to "fatty myocardial degeneration due to obesity", a form of steatosis.

That's odd. I had heard that her heart attack was due to rapid weight loss. She had been fasting for several days before her death, apparently.

That is exactly what I heard. Now if I could just remember where I read that...

What I read, and also can not relocate, is that her her father died young from the same heart condition. So perhaps it was a hereditary condition.
