I think Strawberry Fields Forever air-played less in the US and the UK before it was released like maybe for only one time.

I remember Penny Lane getting more airtime here in the United States.

Yes, I was 17 at the time and living in New York City.  Penny Lane was played more frequently than Strawberry Fields Forever over AM and FM radio.

That's because Penny Lane was the first song to become a pre-release. Right, mate?

I think it was because Penny Lane was more suited for playlists on commercial radio, Daniel.  The few listener-sponsored stations we had at the time did play whole LPs without interruption.  Anyway, Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever appeared on the same promo single.
