I see no reason to think that their alleged "intellectualism" appealed more to men than to women... It might be easy to assume that because of the juxtaposition with their earlier years' association with screaming fangirls, but that would be a sort of illusion if you see what I'm saying. I really don't think there is any reason to believe that the Beatles inherently appeal to males moreso than females. All humans respond to melody, tonality, rhythm, and a b****ing guitar riff, and all are equally concerned (or ignorant) of politics, philosophy, or other things that I'm assuming you mean by "intellectualism." At least in my generation, this is what I've found.
