I think Hello Goodbye technically has it!

And, Fab, I can understand where you're coming from.  But is there a way to prove this?  What would be the criteria?

Well, Lee Marvin (Chino) is referring to all the girls as "the Beatles (?)" and not one particular individual.

As far as the criteria for why I'd say John was the first Beatle is because he was the founder of the band that became the Beatles before Paul, George, and Ringo joined.

Okay, I will offer my theory of who is the first Beatle as follows:

1)  Paul  2) George  3) John  4) Ringo

Here is my reason:

Paul already knew George before he met John.  Therefore, there were already two Beatles who knew each other and played together.  Then Paul met John and eventually acquainted George with John.  Paul was the causal link for the triune Beatles.  Thus you now had 3 Beatles.  And, of course, lastly Ringo.

Paul was also the last Beatle because he made the official announcement of the split.  That's what counted; not John's informal declaration earlier.

I rest my case because it's all I've got anyway!

Did Paul and George really play guitars together before Paul met John?

Bobber:  I think they did because Paul was trying to convince John to let George join them because he could play "Raunchy."

So really, John joined them rather than the other way around!  ;D

I'm still sticking with John... he formed the Quarrymen without Paul, George, or Ringo. However, it is universally acknowledged that The Quarrymen is the band that morphed into the band we all know as The Beatles. Further, John is the one who came up with the name "Beatles".

Here's my supporting evidence:

And now... I rest my case...

Thanks, Fab.  I enjoyed the video.  You're right about the birth of the Beatles definitely.

I guess I was just looking at the way they came together.  No, they weren't yet Beatles, they were just a few guys who started meeting and getting to know each other.

And then they became Beatles!!  So, I concur (if that's the right legal language).  And now please!  Order in the Courtroom - no further pandemonium or we're gonna have to put the bailiffs in action.
