any fans besides me ?
Im not going to post any you tubes (I seldom do), just wondered who likes them..
Jaco is a hero of mine

I'm a Jaco fan too, but havent really checked 'Weather Report' out enough yet. I got familiar with him through joni and his interview with Jamerson. That was some stuff right there. I loved Kenwood Denard on the drums when they played.

Ive played albums like Heavy Weather to people and they hated it ha2ha
theyre the kind of band that you have to have quite a few listens to really appreciate the music and theyre musicianship
Black Market is one I recommend
someone described Jaco as the Jimi Hendrix of the bass, good description imo

Jaco could play a bit.. ???
a tragedy he ended up sleeping rough and was killed by a bouncer at 34 years old. probably THE greatest electric bass player ever.
Jaco Pastorius - Jam in E (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M2yib3ecjo#)

That is a tragedy indeed mate! JACO was a great Bass player, what do you think of the late PHIL LYNOTT, GEDDY LEE and JACK BRUCE just to name a few?

My buddy (who's into Jaco big time) told me that he was so poor at the time of that Jamerson interview that he had to borrow that bass. Shame.
