Grammy Performance
« on: February 09, 2006, 02:19:51 AM »

Paul just kicked everybody's ass on the grammy's.  Helter Skelter!

Made the Stones on Superbowl look like wimps.  Made U2 and Mary J Blige look like amateur hour.

This guy is the greatest living embodiment of rock-n-roll, popular music, whatever you want to call it.

Damn!

I KNOW! HE ROSE THE ROOF THERE! OMFG GEEBUS!!!11

I'm still trying to calm myself.  Most of the performers played one song, but he played TWO.  And Ellen's into was great.  "Our next performer needs no introduction." *leaves stage*

And I loved his reference to John.  "I passed the audition."

EDIT: Damn it, no luck on the best pop vocal album.

Paul also plays Yesterday with two other artists.  I'm not familiar with much contemporary stuff, but it seems that the black guy (who was wearing a John Lennon shirt) was doing a few rap licks during the contemporary sounding Yesterday.  Damn... that was awesome.

Well so far this is torture. Madonna and Coldplay. Both so freaking boring. And the Gorilaz thing? STUPID! I don't know how I'm gonna get through this. A what value does a Grammy even have anymore if people like Kelly Clarkson win one?? All of it's credibility just went out the window on that one. I'm glad Paul didn't win one. It would have to mean his music sucked!!! I can't wait for U2 though. I always enjoy them. But once Paul's one I can turn it off.

Awww man. Oh well. Anyway, just saw U2. They were very cool. Bono at the end of Vertigo: She loves you yeah yeah yeah! He's so cool. He gets so much sh*t, but he really is cool. And then One, which gave me chills. Although I wish Bono would have sang more of it than Mary J Blige. I think U2 is one of the greatest bands of all time, I really do.

Well losing to U2 is WAY better than losing to Kelly Clarkson!! Which he did.

Anyway, the Jay Z (with New York City Lennon Shirt), Linkin Park, McCartney moment was very cool. I liked what they did with Yesterday. Mainly cuz I'm bored of that song and it was just cool to see him with those people. No wonder LL Cool J said with a little help from their friends. I was wondering.

Oh, I also thought what Bono said when he accepted the award was cool. About rock bands with guitar, bass, and drums creating something more than just entertainment. Or something like that. Anyway, it was a good dig at all those annoying no talents and American Idols.

Paul playing (and singing) Fine Line and Helter Skelter ... and singing Yesterday with Jay Z and Linkin Park ...
