Now I was going to say 'a laptop', but who gets an internet connection in a desert island?! Instead, I choose a guitar.
Can I have John Lennon as my maroonee? Oh, probably not. In that case, Brian May.

Even without an internet connection I'd still go for the laptop (I'm gonna need electricity though...). I use my laptop a lot to write, and I can play CD's and DVD's on it (which is kind of practical if you're taking a DVD and a CD).

Hmmm....
How To Live On a Desert Island 101
Gone Troppo

Bear Grylls is a pretty good choice for a fellow maroonee...until he tells you to drink your own p*ss :-\
-
one DVD: Cast Away (tom hanks)
one CD : doesn't matter (see luxury below)
one book : Watership Down
one luxury : my ipod (with all my fav songs)
one fellow maroonee: Richard Dean Anderson - he'd be able to make anything we needed out of whatever we find ;D
electricity has to be involved already if dvd and cd's are allowed, right?

HaHa Id actually choose my lovely wife over Susannah every time but she is lovely (swoon)
But the movie was unwatchable!
Ive heard that before, I dont know why people think that ?? admitably its hard to present a long book in a 100 minute movie and I guess if you havent read the book it could be a bit mystifying, I like the film a lot and I believe theyre making Smiley's People also. I did find the movie better on my 2nd viewing I must admit. (btw does DM's have a 'reptile fund' ?) :D

What is a reptile fund?
I wouldnt be able to watch it a second time. Too much bloody and gorey scenes. I did not get the plot at all. It is like there was something going for an hour and half and then suddenly at the end the bad guy says "oh by the way I am the bad guy". But I have heard that the book is way better
