I used to live in MN, those winters were harsh, easy to say how a small plane could lose it.

Buddy Holly played the Duluth, Minnesota Armory just a few days before that crash. I went there to pay homage.

Interestingly, Robert Zimmerman grew up just a few miles north, in the iron mining town of Hibbing, MN. He didn't fit in so well, so he packed up and moved to NY to try a career in music ...

I was hoping that Netflix had this in streaming but no such luck. I've been wanting to watch it all day.

Oh, thanks! I saw that on Netflix too but didn't know who hosted it. It was funny when I turned on Pandora radio tonight. The first song that came on was this one...

Buddy Holly released only three studio albums in his lifetime.  Only one song, That'll Be the Day, reached #1 on the charts.  But his legacy is being a pioneer of rock and roll.

Buddy holly recorded Crying, Waiting, Hoping in his New York City apartment on 14 December 1958.  It was just him with his guitar...

Record producer Jack Hansen had studio musicians and the Ray Charles Singers augment Buddy Holly's vocal and guitar.  Coral Records released the song as the B-side to Peggy Sue Got Married in July 1959...
