'WHY YOU SHOULD CARE THAT LADY GAGA'S SUING ME FOR $1.4 MILLION'

bit of a read but interesting.

Appalling, though hardly surprising, Madonna (another huge talent.....not) has 'allegedly' been doing this for years.

Mick Jagger had a case against him a few years ago - a long, long time after he was relevant - and, if you heard his version of 'Just Another Night' (a dire solo effort from the 1980s) next to the song he was meant to have 'borrowed', you'd barely be able to tell the difference!

He won. The unknown songwriter lost. Money talks.

.....and yet George Harrison got dragged through the courts for the best part of 20 years over the 'He's So Fine'/'My Sweet Lord' business.
Any contempt George might have had for the record industry was well earned.....and, ironically, he hated Madonna!

Thankfully, I wouldn't recognise a Lady Wotsit song if it walked up the drive and shook me by the hand, and I sincerely hope it stays that way.

And yet George resisted any temptation to sue Paul Weller for The Jam's downright brazen rip-off of "Taxman" with their hit single "Start!"

Perhaps the whole idea just sent shivers of bad karma through George and he chose to rise above it all?

He'd have had a cast-iron case had he pursued this!

Same here! Maybe I missed something in the article but what is exactly is this Gaga person suing Rebecca F. for? Defamation of character? Ha! That's a good one. I didn't know you could file a counter suit just for spite. Is she saying that Rebecca stole from her? I feel very sorry for Rebecca.

That's right Mr. Mustard.
I suspect George just thought The Jam's 'nod' to 'Taxman' was a compliment to him and wasn't that fazed about it.
Unfortunately, I don't think George was downright horrible and vindictive enough for the music biz!

The current Mojo article on him paints a particularly nasty picture of how most of the money raised for Bangladesh vanished into people's pockets and got nowhere near the Bangladeshi people.

I actually like the song.

Same here.  People have been telling me how talented she is for awhile now, and I could never swallow that pill.  The article Kevin posted seems to suggest that too.
