While she’s no doubt a divisive figure in Beatle world, I still think she deserves a big happy birthday on her 90th. Extraordinary life, from ruined post-war Japan to off-the-wall artist and undoubtedly canny businesswoman. I think as I get older I appreciate her resolute ability just to be who she is with no apologies. And there’s no doubt the influence she had on John.
