Mudhoney is good too.  And Soundgarden is another band that I love.  Chris Cornell's got one of those voices that just sends shivers down your spine.  Like Robert Plant kind of, only more hardcore.  But I still like Pearl Jam better than all the others of the time period.  And I guess I wouldn't consider them grunge anyhow, I would call them straight Hard Rock.  I love Eddie Vedders voice too, and i don't care if they are comercialized, that's not what's important to me.  To me it's all about good music, and good shows, and they provide both.  It's just none of those bands speak to me as much as Pearl Jam does.  The Smashing Pumpkins are pretty close, but not as good.  I guess Pearl Jam's music is just more versatile.  It's not always banging your head with them.  They have alot of soft, slow songs that are real tear jerkers.  For me anyhow.  To each his own man.  I'm all about that.

Rock & roll died after the 70's with the Van Halen explosion back in 78, Bon Jovi is all about their one great classic rock album Slippery When Wet, the media thinks of JBJ as a rock legend in the same leagues as Paul McCartney, which is pathetic!!!

There's no such thing as a legendary rock band from the 80's.  Or at least none of them deserve to be.  Thank God John didn't live to see the crap that was produced during that decade.  If he had he'd have killed himself anyhow.

U2 was a very good rock band to come out of the 80s.

It's all subjective, of course.  But as John was proud of Yoko presaging the B-52's I think he might have kept an ear open for more ideas and things that appealed to his desire to do different things.

I like U2, and Guns N' Roses, though I think they closer fit in with the grunge bands than anything else done in the 70's.  AC/DC not so much, but they started in the 70's anyhow so they're not applicable.

Nobody is going to remember Bon Jovi in the next 20 years unlike Elvis & the Beatles while Slippery When Wet is their only great classic rock album besides if JBJ ever wins an Oscar you know it's the end of the world!!!

I wonder if Wayne ever considered that in (almost) 20 years time someone would be able to reply to his comment and point out that, not only is Bon Jovi remembered, it’s still a going concern.  ha2ha
