As stated in the books you would recommend? thread i would like to extend my collection of books on The Beatles. Which books do you think are not worth the paper they are written on so worth avoiding?
Cheers

We had a discussion about the Bob Spitz book in the past. See: http://www.dmbeatles.com/forums/index.php?topic=3644.40 (http://www.dmbeatles.com/forums/index.php?topic=3644.40)
I still wouldn't recommend it. ;D

The Lives Of John Lennon - By Albert Goldman
BTW, I didn't think the Bob Spitz book was too bad. Yes, there are a lot of factual errors in it, and it is by far from a complete history. It was entertaining. Just don't read it and believe everything.

I didn't see this thread when I posted in your other one about books so I'll take this opportunity to say again how much I disliked Fab! ;D

Yeah, The Lives of John Lennon is quite bad. I also found "The Love You Make" to be rather trashy and sensationalistic.

Yes, Emmi, the Howard Sounes bio. It was very negative.

Larry Kane's Ticket to Ride is pretty bad.
I think Spitz's Beatles is quite good.

both are bad
And what was YOUR reasoning on why Spitz's book was bad?
