What's YOUR Let It Be album?
« on: October 11, 2009, 07:27:48 PM »

How would you make the album? Use any takes, and put them in any order. Use Spectorized tracks, non-Spectorized tracks, whatever ya want. I replaced Dig a Pony with Don't Let Me Down and would leave all the studio and rooftop chatter in tact.

Mine:

1. Two Of Us (from original album)
2. Don't Let Me Down (rooftop performance)
3. Across The Universe ("No One's Gonna Change Our World" version)
4. I Me Mine (Spectorized version from original album)
5. Dig It (from original album)
6. Let It Be (single version)
7. Maggie Mae (from original album)
8. I've Got A Feeling (from original album)
9. One After 909 (from original album)
10. The Long and Winding Road ("Naked" version)
11. For You Blue (from original album)
12. Get Back (1st rooftop performance)

Post your "dream album" formed of songs that were included on Let It Be or Let It Be...Naked. Your album can have as many songs as you wish. Here's mine :

01.Get Back (LIB) (reason : like the ending)
02.Don't Let Me Down (LIB Naked)
03.Dig A Pony (any version)
04.I Me Mine (LIB Naked)  (sounds more clear)
05.I've Got A Feeling (LIB Naked)  (same as above)
06.Two Of Us (LIB Naked)  (same as above)
07.The Long and Winding Road (LIB Naked) (obvious the better version)
08.For You Blue (LIB Naked)
09.One After 909 (any version)
10.Across The Universe (LIB Naked)  (sounds more clear)
11.Let It Be (LIB) (absolutely love the guitar solo)

i find that LIBN is a much better album, i can do without all the spectorized "over-kill" productions, schmaltzy, syrupy choir singing on plain vanilla LIB. and also the faked studio chatter on the original seems quite contrived. and i used to love that album.

when you say 'I Me Mine' sounds more clear on Naked

are you comparing Naked to the original or the remaster ?

you lost me..

you mustve noticed on the original that some brass instruments enter at 1.04 (all I can hear, i me mine,i me mine, i me mine) ?

on Naked they are removed and to my ears it sounds a bit empty.

haven't heard it in awhile nimrod. thing is, if the horn section was a spectorized "wall of sound" thing, then it would make sense to remove them.
